    Chain-Drive Opener

    The chain-drive opener for garage doors has (you guessed it) a chain that connects to the motorized trolley that opens the door.

    The big upside with chain-drive openers is that they are relatively inexpensive. If budget is a big concern, then the chain-drive opening mechanism is the way to go.

    However, they’re not the best type of garage door opener. While they will get the job done, they are extremely noisy so hardly ideal for the rest of your household if you plan to be going in and out at night or early hours of the morning.

    Belt-Drive Opener

    A belt-drive opener works in much the same way as the chain-drive opener. The only difference is that the mechanism used to operate the trolley is a belt instead of a chain.
